This week to sum it up has been hell...Qisha was admitted to the hospital (yes:again),this time for urinary track infection. I know its common in babies to actually get UTI but together with asthma, the flu , fever, and vomiting combined together is not 'fun'.
Sheeshhhh...

Ok this morning i took the lrt to work, and being me in this new office (new ke..dah dekat setahun saya keje sini) wore frumpy jeans and Tshirt..heheh..every day i might add..kecuali kalau ada client meetings or traing..i havent worn high heels in a year!!! wakakaka..i LOVE this company...environment and all....my work life now is actually blissfully serene... well from the lrt station too rohas perkasa i terserempak dengan 3-4 people from ex-company..all tanya...(sambil tengok atas bawah) cuti ke hari ni...wakaka..yes i am that selebek...

pity though...its a new technology and during these bad times..sunny days are not forseen..

thats why..i suprised myself when i actually rejected a job offer (locally) this week...i have been job hunting these past months..just becoz i do not want to be next in line when the next 'bump' comes...last in first out laa kan..luckily the boss loves me enough that i actually survived two waves in a row....but yeah i know!!!the next wave will come...

ok ok back to the story..yes i rejected a job offer this week from a US company...which offered me a 5 figure salary tau tak!!!...why you ask..plain and simple...i do not have the time and energy to do it..the responsibility i shamefully admit in this point of time is wayyyyy to much..i have my studies, kids(read: sick kids) and family going on...and lepas solat istikarah and bincang with arif...its just a no-no...i can live without the extra 3000 ringgit for now...so please dream job..come my way soon...i want a job in the UK (permanent please)..why?...to school daniel there..no matter how much it pays..

I am always sceptical on how some people blog about food and give free advertisement for restaurant.....but somehow i must admit my lunch today was worth a post or two!!!!!!!!
im sure a lot of people already tried the food in Al Rawsha...I always go there but being on a diet i have never ordered any sort of rice...always kebab...shawarma etc2..
Tapi disebabkan sangat happy lunch tadi....i decided to give what i aways saw other people eating a go....

Parents of newly identified deaf and hard of hearing children go through the following standard stages of grief and acceptance:

1.Denial - Some parents may deny the fact their child has a hearing loss. Sometimes this stage manifests itself when parents insist that their child communicate orally or through sign language, when the child may be better suited to a different method of communication or learning.

2.Anxiety - Parents learn things like "the average deaf high school graduate reads at fourth grade level" and worry about their child's future academic abilities and employability. They worry that their child may not be able to communicate with hearing children in the neighborhood and have friends.

3.Depression - Some parents ask themselves, "Why us? why our child?"

4.Anger - Some parents think, "It's not fair! This is not fair to us or to our child! We/our child don't deserve this!"

5.Guilt - Parents may feel that their child's hearing loss is the result of something that they did, or did not do. For example, ear infections when untreated can cause hearing loss - but today doctors must make judgment calls on whether to prescribe antibiotics for ear infections because of the risks of antibiotic overuse.

6.Acceptance - Parents learn about deafness and hearing loss. They become acquainted with others in the deaf/hoh community, and see that their child can have a normal, fulfilling life. arghhh..i takder duit nak beli...arif taulaa mana suka mainan2 nih..membazir katanya..soooooooo tak setuju..contohnya...rocker yang cik hana belikan dulu...memang berbaloi...sampai sekarng qisha tidur and daniel tumpang duduk atas tuuuu...

Sungguh saya tak percaya...takk percaya apa you might ask me...well....

Yesterday hubby lambat sebab ada meeting...so yours truly balik dgn lrt & amik adik. Hubby lak amik daniel kat tadika...balik2 dua orang tu...i noticed daniel was holding a black wallet..

tanyalaa hubby sambil simpan EBM adik..wallet apa yang daniel pegang tu???you know what hubby answered....

"Oh...lupa nak cakap kat awak...anak awak ada girlfren...."

WTH?!...daniel then proudly.yes diulangi PROUDLY came to me..showed me what was inside the wallet.ada gambar anak dara sapa entah pakai baju tadika....and started kissing the picture...he then proceeded g kat adik dia...and kissed the picture in front of adik....

Wa laaa wei....rupa2nya..the girl in the picture (menurut cikgu tadika) gave the wallet with picture to daniel...they apparently are a couple in tadika!!!!

Daniel is by the way 3 YEARS OLD....he goes to tadika because dia kena buang dari taska (thats another posting on its own) and is the only 3 year old in tadika....my baby still wears diapers and minum susu from bottle...how the he** did he have time to ngorat..

humpphhh...should i be worried?????

Ok...Suddenly..I mean suddenly a lot (read: a lot) of things are happening in my life.

Kerja di ofis skang nih nampak gayanya semakin mencabar...heheh actually am glad sebab i like having a lot of work..masa berlalu dengan lebih pantas...and the sooner i get to see my babies !!

I baru terima panggilan dari U*M.....jeng jeng jeng..i have been selected to do a double masters in Petroleum Geoscience and Masters in Engineering in Applied Petroleum Geoscience for 2009 intake!.
The program is designed for working proffesional (read: ehem profesionals hehehe). There is but though..a big BUT....the second year of this program is held in ....Insti*ute T*chnology Bandu*g..and requires full time..28 credit hours (for the second year)hmmmm..i just went through the subjects...sangat best ok....its really within my field and career..i have been in and out of u*m for a year now...main tarik tali if i want to do my masters or not...i had it on hold when i found out i was pregnant with Qisha...now i have and official offer and finance to do it...i am blur...

Ok..another berita...lepas dah buat keputusan and politely rejecting an offer to work in Romania....i received a call last week from a head hunter..30 minutes later a call from Aberdeen. A phone interview with yours truly went pretty well if I say so myself...its one of those interviews where you instantly click with the interviewer...

Ok I have to get to work....curi tulang sekejap...oh tadi while i was lugging(is this a word)my bags.. a guy tegur i...dia kata..i don't get why women have to carry a lot of bags..i kinda got pissed...

WELL let me tell you mister...why women carry a lot of bags...
1)handbag- to put personal belongings such as phone and wallet
2)avent cooler sling bag- to put my breast pump and BM
3)orange PGCE laptop bagpack-my laptop
4)fitness first hand carry bag-my gym equipment

God forbid how many extra bags i have to carry if i decide to pursue my masters...

Best giler cuti lelama nih...hehehe..rasa cam tak leh terima hakikat kena start balik kerja..ihik2...

Anyway all went well ...alhamdulillah..saya selamat melahirkan seorang baby perempuan 2.95kg dengan svd (natural birth).Truthfully I think all the crap about second time being easier is a lie!!hehe...qishas birth was actually worst...sampai sekarang kalau kena sembelit and get that ala2 memulas feel...i cringe and remember the 22nd of October!!!

Qisha is now sleeping and daniel is at school...=).I am trying to savour these last moments of cuti..tapi stok susu cik qisha tak cukup lagi...cemaner nih...aba dier dah hint cakap alaaa...tinggal setin kecik isomil just in case EBM tak cukup...noooooooooooooo.....i seriously plan to exclusively breastfeed her until two...amin..ya rabb...

My First Day

I know..i know its been ages since I updated my blog....things have been tiring and hectic lately what with the new house...new job...and most of all new kid on the way.

Today is my second day in the new company. I guess it isn't too bad...the environment is almost the same to CGG and with the flexible policy going around here..I am happy (for the time being that is)ehhehehe...

Oh yeah....scanned little baby in tummy last two weeks...yipedeee...its going to be a girl (cross thy fingers)!!This little girl has brought much rezeki to our lives.. and is a much awaited sister for big brother Daniel..

Talking about Daniel..arghhh my little monster has come up with a terrible habit of wanting toys every single freakin day!! Comin home from taska...he would find various ways such as...the 'puss in the boots' face...the "gaging oneself with hand until puking" method and the ever so famous "screaming,kicking and rolling on the ground" trick. I know...I know...I have to toughen up and be strict with him...but tell you the truth..I have no energy left bila balik kerja to actually put up a fight....my pockets are begining to dry up with his current addiction...

On that note...heres a picture of my ex-office , I sure miss those giant screens...these measly excuse as screens they give me here is giving me a headache..but looking on the good side i'll be smiling the end of this month.....

p/s: Hana banana...sorry for being MIA hari tu...Daniel threw my handphone goodness knows where...and me being the geophysicist I am put it in silent...found it on Sunday burried inside his toy box....ampun2 cik kak....and yes send the cards to me..nanti sya deliver kat dak2 lain...

People look at me and think its easy for me to make friends.

It isn't.Its hard for me to find someone i can fully trust and love. The past 27 years, i can actually count how many true friends I've made and hold a place in my heart.Through tough times or through times that we don't even contact each other...i must admit i am not the most forgiving person on earth but these friends have never hurt me to the extent that i had to make a choice of forgiving and forgetting.

For these few people....i say thank you for believing and loving me the way i am.
One of them is my hana....

Hana banana.... i love you for always being there. I miss you babe. i sometimes get so mad that you are not here when things are so down.when i need a shoulder to cry on....without you judging and criticizing me. For always being frank with me and giving your true opinion in life....

Its been a long time since ive had time to blog....awww...meant to put up daniels latest pictures ...tak terbuat...sorry darling...mama tak sempat...maybe tommorow...

apa cerita terbaru...let me see...well daniel behaviour lately has been oh so sakit kepala!!!...hes been throwing tantrums and so mudah merajuk..kekadang kesian jugak since i literaly have no energy to pujuk or play with him bila balik keje...penat okey...baby no 2 has not been nice to mama...my back rasa macam nak pecah...weight gain jangan ceritalaa...heheh..
abang long pun macam tau2 je hes goin to get an adik soon....sayang daniel..
mamas love takkan kurang kat daniel...jangan risau key darlin...

masalah bibik pun tak selesai2...hopefully we'll be gettin a new bibik next two week...i have two people to choose from..malas nak cerita panjang2...im so frustrated with the bibik issue...

on a lighter note...loan rumah dah setel...lawyer problem dah setel...cross fingers..we get to move in our new house before i give birth....will update later on cerita new house...

hmmm...theres another thing that seems to be bothering me....i don't think it happened during daniels pregnancy...ive been havin really weird and kinda funny dreams lately...last night was so kelakar i pun tersenyum bila woke up...hehehhe
i mimpi i knew mawi (yes boys and girls...the singer)...and he was gettin married...he called me up for some advise on wedding arrangements...wth!!..hehehe..
and the day before i mimpi i was thrown into a sungai which had really evil lookin fish swimminh in it...these fish was so-like-hello scary lookin....half fish and half ada kaki...swimming all around me...

Yup...boys and girls....I was feeling weird and bloated for the last 2 weeks...wasn't really expecting moi to be pregnant since there have been a couple of false alarms this year.but what the heck,i bought a pregnancy tester which apparently came in twos...the instruction says...
pee and put the stick in ..in 40 seconds if two distinctive lines appear..you are pregnant...and...nup....
it didn't appear in 40 seconds...it appeared the second my pee touched the line section..eheheh...i chucked out the first stick..read the expiry date..hmm May 2008..maybe that one had an early expiry..tried the second one..and hey presto...

daniel is going to be a brother...i am going to be a mother of two...bibik has double the work...hehehhe..next year its not going be satu bungkus huggies it will be two...
i just lost 17 kilos...i 'm going to gain back 20...and...

Anybody who is close to me knows I am a biggggggg fan of parfumes..The sense of smell for me is an outlet for my stress and can instantly brighten my day..i just love things that smell good...

To my dismay (sob..sob)..i am officialy out of perfume...when i say run out...i mean not a single drop...i searched high and low....all my bottles are e-m-p-t-y....this people has never ever happened...

but with my current bibiks permit and car insurance comin up..i guess i have to live with it...ihik2...

What Is That Red Blinking Light On His Head?

This is actually a question that we got asked a lot..There is a little red blinking light on Daniel's ear level microphone that lets us know that the implant is picking up sound - and apparently it has has turned some heads! Thinking back I don't even think i have came across an implantee in Malaysia except in the hospital...hmmmm

When people have asked about Daniel's implant, I think I have told every person a different story. I have never known quite what to say before (Do i tell them to mind their own business?Do I just call it a fancy hearing aid? Do I go into a lot of detail? Am I talking over or under people's heads?) - but I think I've figured it out! Here's what I'm going to tell anyone else who asks me, "what's that on his ear?" (or words to that effect...)

"It's called a Cochlear Implant. It is like a hearing aid. But, whereas a hearing aid is an entirely external thing, part of this device is actually implanted in his head. Plus, a hearing aid's job is just to amplify sound. A Cochlear Implant goes much further - it actually picks sound up with a microphone (the blinking light part), translates that sound into electrical impulses (using this processor on his back), and sends that information to his brain (through this magnet on his head) which then interpret those impulses and understands them as sounds.

i can follow the explanation from a 4 year old boy i met at the hospital the other day....Big brother and Little brother were playing in a little house that was inthe waiting room.A girl who was probably 20 something asked Big brother what was on Little brothers head. I was just about to jump in and offer an explanation when Big brother(as confident as anything) said simply, "It's a Cochlear Implant, it helps him hear."

I guess I could learn a thing or two from him...

Welcome To Holland

I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this......When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go.Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland."

"Holland?!?" you say. "What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.
The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place.So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.

It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills... .and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."

But maybe...just maybe.....we are going off to italy...but with an unexpected vacation to Holland first....mamamia....Italy here we come!
